It's Official: Stillwater is joining the 21st Century.Research has shown that cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) is an effective treatment which helps to reduce anxiety. However, many people are not able to access face-to-face CBT due to long waiting lists, lack of available time for appointments, transportation problems, and limited numbers of qualified therapists.
Internet-based CBT (ICBT) provides a possible solution to overcome many of the barriers to accessing face-to-face therapy. Therapists can provide support to patients who are accessing Internet-based therapy by telephone or e-mail. It is hoped that this will provide a way of increasing access to CBT, especially for busy families.
